During the late 1600s and early 1700s, after the 1664 English takeover of New York, our TenEyck and Williamson branch ancestors moved west, usually as young adults, to three counties in northern New Jersey that were being settled by the Dutch - Hunterdon, Middlesex and Somerset.

They and our ancestors who descended from them lived in the townships or vicinity of the towns shown on the enlarged map below, with approximate years of residence - dating from a couple's arrival at a location or marriage there. Those who came from New York, New England or Europe are indicated. Complexity has been minimized by focusing on primary residences - usually where most of their children were born.
