RESIDENCE IN OHIO/INDIANA IN THE 19TH CENTURY

MAP

Our Hoover line moved from North Carolina to Ohio at the turn of the 19th century and built log cabins in the southwest corner of that state. The next generation moved further west, into northern Indiana, there joining the Cook family from Pennsylvania.

Our Ogden-branch families moved into southern Ohio from New York, Delaware, Maryland and West Virginia (some by way of Kentucky). The next generation moved to northern Indiana.

These Hoover/Ogden branch ancestors lived in the following places, shown on the enlarged map below, with approximate years of residence - dating from a couple's arrival at a location or marriage there. Some moves are detailed, but complexity has been minimized by focusing on primary residences - usually where most of their children were born.
